AUBURNDALE, Fla.- The Becker College baseball team's fourth game in Florida against Central (Iowa) ended in the bottom of the 8th inning to the 10-run rule with a final score of 11-1. For the Hawks, Chris Testa (Providence, RI.) had a day at the plate going 3-for-4 along with scoring Becker's only run. He was able to come across when Noah Rivera (New Bedford, Mass.) singled to left field, tallying Becker's only RBI.
The win lifts the Dutch's record to 7-3, while the Hawks stumble to 3-4 on the year.
Central (Iowa) was lead at the plate by their first basemen Ryan Bouwman (Bloomington, Ill.) who was 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Central's shortstop Garrett Saunders (Bonaparte, Iowa) went 4-for-6 with two doubles, an RBI, and scored three of the Dutch runs.
The pitcher for the Dutch was Tanner Wood (Pella, Iowa) who tossed all eight innings, allowing only six hits, with five strikeouts and no earned runs on the day. This outing provided him with his first win in the young season, improving his record to 1-0.
