Robert McLaughlin enters his first year as head coach of the
Becker College baseball team.
Coach McLaughlin comes to Becker from WPI, where he served as an
assistant coach for the past two years. WPI's run during
McLaughlin's tenure was incredibly successful, winning a conference
championship and heading to the NCAAs for the first time.
McLaughlin has also worked with the local Worcester Tornadoes and
has coached at Uxbridge High School.
McLaughlin played collegiately at Division I Northeastern
University, where he was an Academic All-American, and a key
participant on two conference championship teams, winning an award
for leadership as a senior.
"I am very grateful and excited to be given the opportunity to
coach baseball at Becker. My staff and I are eager to build
off the success of the program and make the necessary adjustments
that will take Becker Baseball to the next level," said
McLaughlin.`
Mark Abrain

An alumnus of Becker College; Coach Abrain brings 15 years of coaching experience to the baseball program. A graduate of Warren High School in Rhode Island, Abrain led his American Legion team to the state legion championship.
The south paw led the Becker baseball team in wins during the 1984-1985 campaign. Coach Abrain’s coaching experience includes 10 years as the lead pitching instructor at RBI Blackstone Valley in Northbridge, Mass. Coach Abrain joined the Uxbridge High School staff as Coach McLaughlin's pitching and JV Coach in 2006. As Coach McLaughlin moved up the coaching ladder so did Coach Abrain, joining the WPI staff as an assistant pitching coach for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
Coach Abrain lives in Northbridge, Mass. with his wife Paula and two children Matt and Morgan
Matt Weagle

Matt attended Franklin Pierce University where he was a first team All-American his junior year. His success at the college level awarded him with a 6th round selection in the 2003 MLB amateur draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. He was later a member of the Worcester Tornadoes for three years before working hand and hand with Rich Gedman as pitching coach in 2009. Prior to coaching with the Tornadoes, Matt spent the 2004 season as the pitching coach at division one Holy Cross in Worcester. From 2004-2010 Matt served as the pitching coach at WPI.
