Equestrian opens season with home meet

PAXTON, Mass. --- The Becker College Equestrian Team had their first competition of the year on Saturday. Paco, a Becker College horse who was recently put down for health related reasons, was represented in the official booklet (see attached).

The team had nine team members representing Becker in the show.

• Senior and captain Morgan Houghton placed first on the flat in her division, riding Tison (a Becker College horse), and sixth over fences riding Padame.

• Senior Katy Parton placed fifth on the flat for her division, riding Ranger (a Becker College horse).

• Junior Chasidy Perry placed fourth in her division, riding Will (a Becker College horse)

• Sophomore Emily Lowe received a first place ribbon on the flat in her division, and a fifth place ribbon over fences, riding Tison.

• Sophomore Valerie Slimskey placed second on the flat riding Milo, and placed third over fences riding Tahoe (a Becker College horse).

• Sophomore Alexa Bridges placed first in her division on the flat, riding Tonka.

• Sophomore Layne Koeppel received a first place ribbon in her division on the flat, riding Tonka.

• Sophomore Emily Barilone placed seventh in her division on the flat, riding Gunner (a Becker College horse).

• Freshman Lexi Nieves placed second on the flat in her division, riding Tonka.

The team is back in action on Saturday at the Roger Williams meet.
