Leicester, Mass.- Becker College dropped their home opener to Clark University 11-3 in non-conference women's field hockey action Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Becker sophomore Katherine DiMascio (Braintree, Mass.) led the Hawks with two first-half goals, while senior Brooke Cote (Fitchburg, Mass) added a second half score off a cross from sophomore Michelle Griczika (Barre, Mass).
The Cougars were led offensively by seniors Madeleine Lutts (Salem, Mass.) and Mel Melkonian (Worcester, Mass.), who combined for nine goals on the day. Junior Christabelle Kozlik (Emigrant, Mont.) and freshman Kaylin Mulrooney (Somerset, Mass.) each added a goal for Clark.
In net, Cougar goalkeeper Jordannah Saunders (Scarborough, Maine.) earned the win, stopping one shot in her first half effort, while freshman Christine Tinsman (Prairie Village, Kan.) turned away one shot in the second half. Samantha-Jo Dilkes (Little Falls, N.J.) made 12 saves for the Hawks.
Becker falls to 0-3 and will return to action on Tuesday, September 11th, when they travel to Salem State for a 3:30pm contest with the Vikings. The Cougars improve their record to 2-1 and will be on the road against Nichols College Tuesday night at 7pm.
