Sophomore midfielder Amy Cooper (Monument, Colo. / Lewis Palmer) of the Becker College field hockey team has been voted New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year for the 2017 season.
Cooper overcame an overplayed in three conference games for the Hawks, netting two goals, one of which was a game winner. Becker earned the No. 3 seed in the 2017 NECC Field Hockey Championship.
In addition to Cooper's accolade, Becker junior forward Jocelyn Lebel (Grafton, Mass. / Grafton) was voted NECC All-Conference first team. Becker sophomore forward Emma Wood (Newton, Mass. / Rock Point School) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
This is the third consecutive year that the Hawks have taken home the NECC Player of the Year award. Former Hawk Amy Grenier took the prize in 2015 and 2016.
