Men's Basketball Sweeps NECC Awards

PLAYER OF THE WEEK -  Becker College senior guard Travis Suber (Springfield, Mass.) led the Hawks to a perfect 3-0 week. Suber averaged 21.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 2.0 steals per contest as the Hawks defeated TCCC opponents' Wentworth, Anna Maria and Regis.  In a 103-81 victory against Wentworth, he scored 31 points and pulled down five boards. Against Anna Maria, the Hawks led by Suber downed them 104-66 in their second 100-plus scoring night. He notched 20 points, three rebounds and three steals. In their final match against Regis, Becker won 84-66 with Suber chipping in 13 points and five assists.  For the week, he shot 50 percent (23-of-46) from the field, 44 percent (4-for-9) from beyond the arc, and 70 percent (14-of-20) at the charity stripe.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Becker College freshman forward Michael Massey (New Haven, Conn.) guided the Hawks to a 3-0 week while averaging 18.3 points, 6.7 rebounds,  three steals, and 0.7 assists per game.  Massey helped the Hawks defeat TCCC opponents' Wentworth (103-81), Anna Maria (104-66) and Regis (84-66). His high game for the week was against Regis tallying 20 points and nine rebounds. For the week, he shot 54 percent (20-of-37) from the field and 75 percent (15-of-20) from the line.
