Durodola’s 22 not enough as Men's Hoops fall to Beavers

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's basketball team lost 83-66 to visiting Babson College on Tuesday afternoon at the Leicester Gymnasium.

The Beavers of Babson (3-1), the seventh-ranked team in the latest D3Hoops.com Top 25 poll, were led by senior guard Nick Comenale (New York Mills, N.Y. / New York Mills) with a 27 point performance. Comenale shot 61 percent from the floor and 44 percent from behind the three-point arc. Senior forward Bradley Jacks (Fort Washington, Md. / Gonzaga) finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three blocks while junior guard Brandon Johnson (Mount Vernon, N.Y. / Bergen Catholic / Loomis Chaffee School / Boston University) came off the bench to pull down ten rebounds with seven points in just 19 minutes. Senior guard Tim Hasbargen (Munich, Germany / Nymphenburger Schulen / Cleveland State University) scored 11 points with eight rebounds while senior guard Chris Lowry (Union, Conn. / Woodstock Academy) dished out a game-high seven assists.

The Hawks of Becker (1-2) were led by senior forward Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y. / Campus Magnet) with 22 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Junior forward Bernard Broaster (Pembroke Pines, Fla. / Charles W. Flanagan) finished with 13 points and five rebounds, while freshman guard Jamir Carr (Philadelphia, Penn. / Universal Audenried) came off the bench to score ten points with seven rebounds, shooting 50 percent from the floor. Junior guard Kareem Davis (Lowell, Mass. / St. John's) added eight points with three steals.

After Becker scored the first basket of the game, Babson answered with a 10-0 run, and never trailed again. The Hawks pulled to within one on a layup from Durodola 5:15 into the game, but would never get that close again. The Beavers took a 12-point lead at halftime, 40-28, and pulled away in the second period.

Becker is back on the court on Sunday when they host Western New England in a 1:00 p.m. game. Babson will face Bowdoin on the road on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
