LEICESTER, Mass. – Becker College fell to Nichols College 90-77 in non-conference men's basketball action Thursday evening at the Leicester Gymnasium. The win lifts the Bison record to 7-1, while the Hawks slide to 4-4.
Nichols Junior Marcos Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) scored a game-high 28 points, with 18 points coming from down town. Deante Bruton (New London, Conn.) chipped in with 24 points. Bruton was 8-for-14 from the field and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe. Daequon Antoine (Fort Mill, S.C) added 11 points while pulling down a team-best eight boards. Freshman Matt Morrow (Leicester, Mass.) rounded out the Bison finishing in double figures with 13 points and seven boards off the bench.
Becker sophomore Jalen Robinson (Queens, N.Y.) led the Hawks with 25 points. Robinson was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc while going 7-for-9 from the field. Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y.) tallied 23 points and a team-high eight rebounds. The reigning NECC Player of the Week Kareem Davis (Lowell, Mass.) added ten points, while Donzell Cunningham (Linden, N.J.) chipped in with eight points off the bench.
Both teams return to action on Saturday, December 9th. Nichols will travel to Anna Maria College for a 2:00 p.m. tilt with the AMCATS, while the Hawks will head to Gordon College for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
