Senior forward Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y. / Campus Magnet) of the Becker College men's basketball team was named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the week ending February 18, 2018.
Durodola finished his regular season in dominant fashion, averaging 31.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in crucial Becker victories over Dean and Mitchell. At Dean on Wednesday, Durodola scored 21 of his 32 points in the second half, including two clutch free throws with 16 seconds left as the Hawks rallied for a 75-70 victory. Then at home against Mitchell, Durodola posted a 30 point, 16 rebound performance to become Becker's all-time leading scorer in the NCAA era. With the win, Becker clinched the number two seed in the upcoming NECC Championship, and secured a first round bye.
Durodola, the 2017 NECC Player of the Year, has won the NECC Player of the Week award four times this season.
He was also named Becker College Athlete of the Week for the same period, and the WACBA Player of the Week.
Men's Basketball hosts the NECC Semifinals on Thursday night in Leicester.
