LEICESTER, Mass. --- Senior guard Kareem Davis (Lowell, Mass. / St. John's) of the Becker College men's basketball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for the week ending December 16th, 2018.
Davis matched his career-high, scoring 34 points in a heroic effort as Becker fell 74-71 to visiting Worcester State on Tuesday night. The senior team captain also added six assists, two steals and three rebounds. With his jumper off early on, Davis took it right at the Lancers' defense, going 12 of 13 from the line.
It is the second time this season that Davis has earned NECC Player of the Week honors, previously being recognized for the week ending December 2nd.
Davis was also named the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) Player of the Week and the Becker College Athlete of the Week for the same period.
As of press time, Davis ranks fourth all-time on Becker's career scoring list for the NCAA-era with 1519 points.
The Hawks will break for the holidays and return to competition on Thursday, Jan. 3 at UMass Dartmouth.
