Golf Comes In Second Place At Nichols
DUDLEY, Mass. (Sept. 21) – The Nichols College golf team placed first in the Bison's home five-team 'B' match Tuesday afternoon. Nichols combined for a 319 on the par 72 Dudley Hill Golf Course, led by first year Brian Sears (North Grafton, Mass.) and sophomore Matt Quigley (Sturbridge, Mass.), who each fired an 89 (+7).
Becker junior Tim Staley (Chicago, Ill.) and senior John Bourque (Atkinson, N.H.) tied for medalist honors with a 78 (+6) as the Hawks finished two strokes back of the Bison with a composite 321.
Anna Maria finished third with a 338, led by a pair of 83 scores from senior Jeff LaFramboise (Webster, Mass.) and first year Jake Kardash. Brandeis and Mitchell wrapped up the scoring tied with team scores of 363.
Bison first year Brett Fredrickson (Billerica, Mass.) fired an 80, while classmate John Juterbock (Darien, Conn.) added a stroke on the back nine to finish with an 81. Senior Brent Reihl (Cheshire, Conn.) posted an 83 in his second match of the season.
Nichols is back in action at the Blazers Invitational on Wednesday, September 29 in preparation for the ECAC Division III Championships October 2-3.
