Ice Hawks Hold Off Franklin Pierce 3-2

Marlborough, Mass.- Becker College survived a late surge from Franklin Pierce, in route to a 3-2 win in men's hockey action Friday afternoon.
Becker got the scoring started 13:35 into the first period when Branden Parkhouse (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) fed Patrick Bellew (Newington, Conn) in front of the Franklin Pierce net, for the 1-0 advantage.
Franklin Pierce tied the game 1:32 into the second period when Brendan McCarron (Andover, Mass.) rebounded a Sean Carroll (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) shot, putting it past the dive of Becker goalie Jake Rosenthal (Wantagh, NY). The Hawks regained the lead 6:07 later when freshman Zach Robonson (Plymouth, Mass.) scored his first collegiate goal, on assists from Jeremy Narducci (Apex, NC) and Jared Kersner (Rockville, MD) . The Hawks increased their lead to 3-1 when Brian Murray (Manalapan, NJ) scored a power play goal.
The Ravens pulled within one, when Casey Goodell (Rochester, NH) opened the third period with a power play goal. Becker held off the Ravens for the final 11:08, to capture their seventh win of the season. ECAC Northeast Goalie of the Week Jake Rosenthal made 33 saves in the win. The Hawks are now 7-7-1 on the season.
Franklin Pierce goalie Jon Tuttle (Concord, NH) kept the Ravens in the game, making 22 saves. The Ravens fell to 4-10-2 on the season.
