Rams Overpower Men's Hockey, 4-1

John Towkowiak scored Becker's lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Suffolk

BOSTON, Mass. – Becker College fell to Suffolk University 4-1 in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's hockey action Friday evening.

The win lifts the Rams record to 7-8-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the CCC. The Hawks drop to 4-12-1 on the year and 2-8 in league action.

Suffolk's Jack Jenkins tallied the only goal of opening period on assists from Nick Abbene and Sam Kent.

Becker tied the game at the 1:59 mark of the second period on a John Tomkowiak (Lindenhurst, Ill.) goal. Tomkowiak's goal came on a feed from Corey Schafer (Johnstown, Pa.)

The Rams took the lead for good when Connor Parent found the back of the net on a pass from Nick Abbene 6:30 into the second. Jack Kelly added to the Rams lead with 4:55 remaining in period to sending Suffolk into the locker room with a 3-1 cushion.

A Brian Brooks power play goal with 2:04 remaining in regulation made the final score 4-1.

Richard D'Ortenzio (Holliston, Mass.) made 38 saves in the loss.

The two teams will finish their home and home series tomorrow evening at the Worcester Ice Center at 7:00 p.m.
