Dutney's Hat-Trick Isn't Enough As Men's Hockey Falls to UNE

John Dutney scored a hat trick in a 7-3 loss .

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Becker College fell to the University of New England 7-3 in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's hockey action Saturday evening. The Nor` Easters improve to 16-3-2 (9-3-2 CCC) while the Hawks slide to 4-15-1 (2-12-0 CCC).

After UNE jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period, John Dutney (Hudson, Mass.) cut the deficit in half when he found the back of the net on assists from James Wallace (Levittown, Pa.) and Corey  Schhafer (Johnstown, Pa.).

The Nor` Easters took the game over with three unanswered goals to move in front 5-2.  Trailing 6-3 midway through the third period, John Dutney would net his second goal of the game. With 50 seconds remaining in regulation, James Wallace and Corey Schafer found John Dutney again, this time for his third goal of the game, completing his hat-trick.

The Hawks return to action on Friday, February 2nd when they travel to Wentworth for a 7:00 p.m. tilt with Leopards.
