SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- The Becker College men's ice hockey team lost 3-2 at Western New England (WNE) University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Saturday night at the Olympia Ice Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

SCORING SUMMARY
• The Golden Bears struck first just 10:31 into the game when senior forward Tyler Hines (North Haven, Conn. / Hartford Jr. Wolfpack (EHL)) scored, assisted by senior forward Carlos Ross (Brockport, N.Y. / New York Bobcats (EHL)) and sophomore forward Ryan Price (Brick, N.J. / Charlotte Rush (USPHL Elite)). WNE took a 1-0 lead.
• WNE scored again with 5:51 to go in the first when senior forward Matt O'Dea (Orland Park, Ill. / Concordia) scored his third goal in two days, assisted by senior forward
Steve Beck (Milton, N.Y. / Philadelphia Jr. Flyers (EHL)). The Golden Bears took a 2-0 advantage into the first intermission.
• The Hawks finally broke through 1:03 into the second period when Becker senior forward Corey Schafer (Johnstown, Pa. / Missoula Maulers) found the back of the net for his fifth goal of the season, assisted by sophomore forward Romain Wild (Mex, Switzerland / St. Norbert) and sophomore forward Charles Costello (Philadelphia, Pa. / Cape Cod Islanders). WNE still led, 2-1.
• Then, just 20 seconds into the third period, Becker would tie it up off a goal from Costello, knotting it up at 2-2.
• But just six minutes later, Hines scored his second goal of the game for WNE, assisted by Price and junior defenseman Evan Lindquist (Amston, Conn. / SUNY Plattsburgh). The 3-2 lead would hold up for the final score.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• Becker junior goalie Cody Foster (Saugus, Calif. / Tri City Ice Hawks) finished the night with 39 saves.
• WNE junior goalie Kyle Carducci (Rocky Hill, Conn. / Hartford Jr. Wolfpack (USPHL Premier)) finished with 23 saves.
• WNE outshot Becker, 42-25.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the ice on Friday when they host Salve Regina University in a 7:00 p.m. game. The Golden Bears travel to Curry College for their next game, that coming on Friday at 6:50 p.m.
