Men's Lax Picks Up 2nd GNAC Win

Leicester, Mass. – Freshman David Deschenes (Gales Ferry, Conn.) scored 6 goals and had 2 assists as the Becker College men's lacrosse team defeated Emerson College 20-9 today at Alumni Field to pick up their second GNAC win of the season. Becker improves to 5-7 (2-1 GNAC) while Emerson remains winless at 0-9 (0-3 GNAC).

Becker held a 3-0 advantage after the first quarter. Senior John Bourque (Atkinson, NH) had a hand is all the scoring. He tallied two goals and assisted on Deschenes score. Bourque finished the day with 6 points (3goals, 3assists).

Becker broke the game open in the second quarter scoring 5 unanswered goals to round out the half.

Joe Ignagni (Kingston, Mass.) added 5 goals for Becker and Jeff Petersen (Syracuse, NY) chipped in with 5 points.

Emerson was led by Josh Anderson (Underhill Center, VT) who had a hat trick and Max Smith (Gillette, NJ) who scored two goals.

Goaltender Zoe Fisk (Pittston, ME) had 21 saves in the loss, his counterpart Michael Munoz (Avon, Conn) had 8 saves.

Becker returns to action on Monday night when they travel to Regis College for a 7:00 pm match-up.
