Deschenes Paces Men's Lacrosse Past Johnson State

LEICESTER, Mass.- David Deschenes (Gales Ferry, Conn.) tallied a program record 13 points as Becker College defeated Johnson State 23-2 in non-conference men's lacrosse action Sunday afternoon. The win lifts the Hawks record to 4-1, while the Badgers fall to 0-2.

Deschenes scored a game high seven points and six assist. Freshman Daniel Johnson (Plymouth, Mass.) finished with five goals and four assists. Matt Matson (Worcester, Mass.), Dalton Carroll (Shrewsbury, Mass.), and Brian Oseija (West Seneca, N.Y.) had two goals apiece, while Blake Boutiette (Burriville, R.I.) scored a hat-trick.

Jeffrey Candee (Madison, Conn.) and Anthony Jordan (West Hartford, Conn.) combined to make three saves between the pipes.

Matt Dekens (Johnson, Vt.) and Ryan Belen (Northvale, N.J.) found the back of the net for Johnson State. Freshman goalie Jay Palmisano (Barre, Vt.) made 25 saves.

Becker returns to action on Wednesday, March 19 when they begin GNAC play against Daniel Webster College at 4:00 p.m. Johnson State will travel to Maine Maritime on Saturday, March 22 at 12:00 p.m.
