Shawn Degnan began his lacrosse coaching career in 2001 for the
combined Worcester Public Schools lacrosse program. As a
first year head coach, he was chosen as the US Lacrosse Coach of
the Year for Central Massachusetts. Coach Degnan spent eight
seasons coaching Worcester lacrosse before being hired as the
offensive coordinator of the Nichols College lacrosse team in 2009.
In 2010, Coach Degnan was hired as associate head and offensive
coordinator at Becker College. Degnan has also coached football at
Worcester South High School as the defensive line coach from 1999
to 2001. In 2002 through 2007, Degnan was the defensive coordinator
for the Worcester Technical High School football team. Degnan
coached football for Becker College in 2009 as the outside
linebacker coach. He has also spent time as the head boy’s
basketball coach at Worcester Technical High School from 2004 to
2006. Coach Degnan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary
Education as well as a Masters degree in History both from
Worcester State College. Coach Degnan lives in Worcester and
is employed full time as a history teacher with the Worcester
Public Schools. He lives with his wife Lori, and his two children,
Lindsay, and Cole.
