Hawks and Mustangs Finish Stalemated at 2-2
Leicester, Mass.-Through 110 minutes of soccer, Becker and Mount Ida ended with a 2-2 tie. The Mustangs got on the board first when Taiki Otsuka (Kanagawa, Japan) split the Becker defense for his fourth goal of the season. Becker answered back when Snjezan Telebak (Chicago, IL.) took a pass from Dircilino Debrito ( New Beford, MA.) and scored on a breakaway, tying the game at one. The Hawks had plenty of opportunities to put the game out of reach as Dircilino Debrito hit the cross bar and Jason Gianatti (Southington, CT.) ripped a shot of the right post. After Becker goalkeeper Aaron Fill (Ladner, B.C.) made a save, he punted the ball down field to Dircilino Debrito who scored the Hawks second breakaway goal of the game. The Hawks were up 2-1 until just under ten minutes left when Taiki Otsuka scored his second goal of the game. With four seconds left in the final overtime Timothy Howard (Paxton, MA.) broke free down the right side one on one with Mount Ida goalie Brian Leighton (Turner, ME.), only to shoot the ball wide left.
Becker Goalkeeper Aaron Fill got his first assist of his career along with 5 saves. Mount Ida goalkeeper Brian Leighton made 8 saves. The Hawks are now 3-3-1, Mount Ida is 3-2-3.
