Hawks Shutout Blazers, 2-0

Leicester, Mass.- The Becker College men's soccer team defeated visiting Elms College 2-0 today in New England Collegiate Conference action at Alumni Field. The win lifts the Hawks record to 8-6-1 (3-1 NECC) while the Blazers' record dips to 4-10 (1-4 NECC).
Becker broke the 0-0 tie when senior RJ Giegerich (Londonderry, NH) took and indirect kick from 25 yards out that crossed in front of the net and was headed in by John Gilbert (Sturbridge, MA) for the game winning goal.
The Hawks were able to put the game away with their second goal of the game in the 65th minute. Dircilino DeBrito (New Bedford, MA) buried a crossing pass into from Samuel Adjei (Worcester, MA) into the back of the twine to double the lead. It was DeBrito's team leading 11th goal of the season.
Becker's keeper Aaron Fill (Ladner, BC) finished the game with 5 saves for his sixth win of the season and second shutout. Ryan Sullivan (Agawam, MA) had one save in net for the Blazers.
Becker returns to action on Tuesday, October 21st when the travel to Mitchell College for a 4:00pm game against the Mariners. Elms travels to Salem State College on Wednesday, October 22nd to take on the Vikings in a 6:30 pm match-up.
