Men's Soccer Held at Bay By Buccaneers
Leicester, Mass.- Mass. Maritime defeated Becker College 4-1 in men's soccer action on Wednesday night.
The Buccaneers got things started just 14:49 into the game when Kevin McCord (Norwell, Mass.) ripped a shot past the dive of Becker goalkeeper Aaron Fill (Ladner, BC). Ryan Fischer (Marshfield Mass.) scored his third point of the game just 38 seconds into the second half, making the score 2-0.
The Hawks scored their lone goal on a penalty kick from Snjezan Telebak (Chicago, IL). The Buccaneers put the game out of reach in the 57th minute when Sean Szczesny (Whitman, Mass.) received a beautiful feed from Kyle Sheehan (Bridgewater, Mass.), making the score 3-1. Kyle Sheehan scored his first goal of the season in the 79th minute, making the final score 4-1.
Aaron Fill made 6 saves in a losing effort. The Hawks fell to 0-3 on the season. Becker returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they host Lyndon State at 3pm.
