DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Becker in non-conference action Monday afternoon at the Nichols Soccer Field.
The Hawks were able to punch across a goal in the 86th minute when freshman Colby Koch (Norfolk, Mass.) fired a shot from outside the 18 that deflected off of a Bison defender and into the net.
The Bison completely outshot the Hawks 30-8 for the game – including 18-3 in the second half – however, the Bison only had five more shots on goal than the Hawks.
Sophomore Jonathan Ingram (Belchertown, Mass.) and junior William Aldrich (Belchertown, Mass.) each had a game-high five shots while graduate student Ryan Banker (Ashaway, R.I.) chipped in with four shots.
Koch along with senior Cody Lavallee (Burrilville, R.I.) paced the Hawks with two shots.
Sophomore Zach Suhoza (Clearwater, Fla.) made four saves in the loss while freshman Sam Majewski (Warren, Mass.) stopped 10 shots in his first-collegiate win.
The win for the Hawks was their first win in 17 all-time meetings in the series. The Bison had won 15-consecutive matches with Becker before today.

Nichols (0-2-1) – Wednesday, September 6 vs Elms, 4:00 p.m.
