Coach Doherty will enter her fourth year in 2011 as the Hawks Head Softball Coach. She began her athletics career in Becker’s own Leicester, Massachusetts where she played Softball and Basketball for the town leagues, then attended Leicester High School playing softball and focusing on her musical and theater studies. She also played for the Worcester Country All-Star travel team, the Leicester travel tournament team and also played basketball for the Telegram & Gazette summer league.

Doherty continued her studies at Dean College where she graduated Phi Theta Kappa with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Musical Theater. At Dean she was a member of the Dance Team, Editor-in-Chief of the Dean Journal, an Orientation Leader and named one of America’s Top College Students in 2001. She continued on to Worcester State University to graduate Lamda Iota Tao with her Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Writing. While at WSU she completed a semester abroad in London, England where she played soccer for Thames Valley University. She earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix in Curriculum & Instruction and is currently finishing her Doctoral studies at the University of Phoenix in Educational Leadership with a focus on Curriculum & Instruction. Her dissertation research is focused on Assessment in Higher Education. She is a professor in the Humanities Department at Becker College going into her fifth year of teaching.
