WNEC Defeats Lady Hawks 92-40
Leicester, Mass.- WNEC had six players in double figures, as the Golden Bears defeated Becker College 92-40 in women's basketball action.
In the first half, freshman point guard Emily Savino (Ellington, Conn) went four for five from the floor, scoring ten points. Senior Caitlin Powers (Scotia, NY) came off the bench and scored ten points, as the Golden Bears took a 51-24 lead a the half. Becker College Junior Heidi Miller (Sanbornton, NH) led the Hawks with eight first half points.
The Golden Bears continued their momentum into the second half. WNEC shot over 58% from the floor and 83% from the free throw line. Senior Kailah Al-Darraji (Dover, NH) finished with a game high 15 points. Loren Stock (Rock Hill, Conn.) and Elena Radzikowski (Medway, Mass) chipped in with 13 points each. Shelby Van Huysen (Killingworth, Conn) rounded out the WNEC players that finished in double figures, as she ended the day with 11 points off the bench.
Heidi Miller led the Hawks with 14 points. With the lost, the Hawks fell to 0-5 on the season. WNEC improved to 3-2 overall.
