Junior forward Adrianna Dowdy (East Haven, Conn. / Hill Regional Career) of the Becker College women's basketball team has been named the Worcester Area College Basketball Association Player of the Week for the week ending January 21, 2018.
Dowdy demonstrated why she's one of the best inside players in the conference this past week, averaging 15 points and 15.3 rebounds per game over three games, while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor. Dowdy also averaged 2.3 assists. Dowdy led the way for the Hawks in their win against the Wildcats of Wheelock with a double-double including 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists. Then in Saturday's home victory over Elms, the junior recorded her eighth double-double of the season and her sixth in the last seven games as she scored 15 points with a game-high 19 rebounds, shooting five of nine from the floor.
Dowdy was also named Becker Athlete of the Week for the same period.
At press time, Dowdy lead the WACBA in rebounding for the season at 11.5 boards per game.
Becker is back on the court on Tuesday when they play host to Bay Path University at 7:00 p.m. Elms host Wheelock in their next game, also on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
