Women's Hoops heading to NCAAs to take on defending champion Amherst

Cassidy Harrison leads Becker into the NCAA Tournament

The Becker College women's basketball team is headed to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2008, and they will travel to Amherst College on Friday night to face the defending National Champion Mammoths in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The Hawks earned their bid with their stunning victory in the New England Collegiate Conference finals on Saturday.

Becker is led by sophomore guard Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass. / Foxborough), who claimed the NECC Tournament Most Valuable Player Award with her 23 points in the championship game. Junior forward Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) was also named to the All-Tournament team, returning from an injury early in the season to score 16 points with eight rebounds in the finals.
