MARLBORO, Mass. --- The Becker College women's ice hockey team lost 5-1 to visiting Endicott College on Sunday night at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts. The Ice Hawks of Becker are now 1-5 and 0-4 against Colonial Hockey Conference opponents while the Gulls remain in first place with a 5-0 record and 4-0 in the CHC standings.
Becker sophomore goalkeeper Julia Johnson (Littleton, Colo. / Walpole Express) finished the night with 32 saves in net. Endicott freshman goalie Kyra Johansson (Buffalo, N.Y. / Lewiston-Porter Senior (HS)) picked up the win with seven saves. For the night, the Gulls had a 42-8 advantage in shots.
Becker sophomore forward Catherine McShera (Marston Mills, Mass. / Cape Cod Storm) scored just 2:09 into the game, assisted by freshman forward Christie Gray (Oxford, Ohio / Culver Girls Academy). It was Becker's first goal since their opener on October 28th.
For Endicott, junior forward Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass. / Sandwich (HS)) scored two goals while sophomore forward Allison Young (Cumberland, R.I. / Worcester Academy), freshman forward Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I. / Worcester Academy) and sophomore forward Teneal Perry (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada / Hebron Academy (HS)) each scored.
The Ice Hawks of Becker will be back on the ice on Friday when they play host to Johnson & Wales College at 7:20 p.m. The Gulls of Endicott travel to Stevenson University on Friday for a 4:00 p.m. game.
