Women's Hockey Skates To a 2-2 Stalemate With Bison

HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Becker College skated to a 2-2 tie with Nichols College in non-conference women's ice hockey action Friday evening at Levy Rink. The Ice Hawks of Becker are now 2-6-1 while the Bison of Nichols move to 0-8-1.

Becker got on the board with a power play goal from freshman Brianna Luciani (Bellingham, Mass.), with assists from Hannah Elmer (Chicopee, Mass.) and Brittany Aiello (Franklin Park, Ill).

The Bison tied the game 3:03 into the second period when Laura Christie (Hudson, Mass.) fed Ariana Dembro (Saugas, Mass.) for her first maker of the season. Nichols took the lead at the 12:55 mark of the stanza when Amanda Moquin (Middleboro, Mass.) tickled the twine.

The scored remained the same until Claudia Gee (Randolph, Vt.) knotted the game at 2-2 with 5:27 left in regulation.

Nichols had their chances in overtime, outshooting the Ice Hawks 9-1. Becker goalie Julia Johnson (Littleton, Colo.) made 37 stops while Cassandra Goyette (Norton, Mass.) finished with 35 saves.

Both teams complete their home and home series tomorrow evening at the New England Sports Center with the faceoff scheduled for 8:20 p.m.
