Late Rally Falls Short As Women's Hockey Season Comes To An End At Canton

CANTON, N.Y.- The Becker College women's ice hockey team fell to SUNY Canton 2-1 in opening round of Colonial Hockey Conference Tournament. With the loss, the Ice Hawks finished their season with a record of 8-16-2.

Canton got on the board 18:16 into the first period when Margret Troiano netted a power-play goal on assists by Jessica Pele and Sydney Jordon.

The Kangaroos extended their lead to 2-0 on another power-play goal, this one coming off the stick of Alyssa Hein, 12:42 into the second period.

The Ice Hawks cut the deficit in half 6:39 into the third period when Bailey Coons (Casper, Wyo.) found the back of the net on a pass from Nikolle Storey (Cumberland, Maine).

Unfortunately, the Ice Hawks couldn't collect the equalizer in the final 13:21 of regulation. Madison Rigsby (O'Fallon, Mo.) kept Becker in the game with 49 saves.
