Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Castleton State


Leicester, Mass. - Sophomore attack Tammy Mullen (Pottstown, PA) had six goals on the day giving her 46 goals on the season for Becker College  but it wasn't enough as the Hawks fall to Castleton State College 28-12 on Saturday afternoons New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) game at Alumni Field. The Hawks' record drops to 3-4 (0-1 NEWLA) while the Spartans improve to 3-1 (2-0 NEWLA).

Castleton State College sophomore Marie VanDerKar (Manchester, VT) netted nine goals and junior Nicole Adams (Rutland, VT) had nine assists for the Spartans.

Freshman Nicole Lijana (Moorestown, PA) added a hat trick (3 goals) and Morgan Hazen (Woodstock, VT) scored two in the loss for the Hawks.

Becker College goalkeeper Alena Phongsa (Putnam, CT) had eleven saves for the afternoon, as the Hawks were outshot 43-19.

Junior attack Stephanie Pearce (Shoreham, NY) netted 4 goals and two assists. While sophomore attack Elizabeth Haggerty (Centerport, NY) added 5 goals and two assists for the Spartans.
