Dilkes, Mossey Lead Women's Lacrosse Past Wheelock, 14-7
LEICESTER, Mass. – Junior attackers Samantha-Jo Dilkes (Little Falls, N.J.) and Ashley Mossey (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) scored four goals apiece to lead host Becker College to a 14-7 win over visiting Wheelock College in NECC women's lacrosse action Tuesday evening at Alumni Field. The Hawks of Becker soar to 5-8 and 3-0 in the conference standings while the Wildcats of Wheelock drop to 2-8 and 1-2 against NECC foes.
Becker never trailed, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first half. Freshman attacker Kailee Ruyack (Beacon, N.Y.) had a hat trick with three scores, while sophomore attacker Mindy Moreau (Canterbury, Conn.) added two goals. Freshman goalie Shelby Wicks (Shaftsbury, Vt.) earned her fifth win of the season with 11 saves.
For Wheelock, sophomore midfielder Molly Centore (Kennebunk, Maine) had two goals with two assists. Junior midfielder Christina Cubera (Baltimore, Md.) contributed a pair of goals with an assist, while sophomore attacker Emma Marrs (Old Lyme, Conn.) also found the back of the net twice. Junior netminder Monica Bettle (Pembroke, Mass.) finished with 14 saves.
Becker will be back in action on Saturday when they head to Daniel Webster for a 1:00 p.m. game. Wheelock travels to Emmanuel on Thursday for a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
