Women's Lacrosse Outlasts Fitchburg State, 13-8

LEICESTER, Mass.- Becker College defeated Fitchburg State University 13-8 in non-conference women's lacrosse action Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Field. The win lifts the Hawks record to 2-3, while the Falcons sink to 1-3.

Becker was led by seniors Christina Boucher (Pawcatuck, Conn.) and Ashley Mossey (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) who scored three goals each.  Kailee Ruyack (Beacon, N.Y.) Rachel Welling (Charlestown, N.H.), and Tatum Fahs (Foster, R.I.) chipped in with two goals each.

Fitchburg was paced by Ali Laferriere (Tyngsboro, Mass.) who scored a game high four goals. Markie Apple (Pittsfield, Mass.) found the back of the net twice.

Becker goalie Shelby Wicks (Shaftsbury, Vt.) turned away eight shots, while Fitchburg goalie Elizabeth Darrigo (Billerica, Mass.) made 15 saves.

Both teams return to action on Thursday, March 27 with Becker hosts Anna Maria College at 4:00 p.m., while Fitchburg State travels to Elms College at 6:00 p.m.
