Mount Ida checks Women's Soccer, 2-0

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's soccer team lost 2-0 to visiting Mount Ida College on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester.


The Mustangs of Mount Ida (3-1) received the eventual game-winner from junior midfielder Lacey Perry (Westport, Mass. / Diman Regional Voc. Tech) in the 60th minute. In the 82nd minute, freshman midfielder Shannon Kelley (Bellingham, Mass. / Blackstone Valley Reg.) scored the insurance goal off a breakaway. Sophomore goalkeeper AnnaMarie Seiler (Biddeford, Maine / Biddeford) recorded 11 saves.


Junior goalkeeper Jordyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass. / Chicopee) led the Hawks of Becker (2-2) with three saves. Junior forward Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass. / Sutton) put five shots on net. Becker couldn't capitalize on an 11-9 advantage in shots.          


Becker is back in action on Thursday when they host Worcester State in a 6:00 p.m. contest. Mount Ida hosts Rivier on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
