Women’s Volleyball takes five setter at Mitchell

NEW LONDON, Conn. --- The Becker College women's volleyball team won a five set thriller at Mitchell College on Saturday at the Yarnall Gymnasium in New London, Connecticut. Set scores were 22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 17-25, 15-10 in favor of the Hawks of Becker. They improve their record this season to 9-14 and 2-4 against NECC opponents while the Mariners of Mitchell drop to 3-16 and 0-6 in league play.

Becker junior setter Charlene Landry (Gorham, Maine / Gorham) filled the stat line with 18 set assists, 19 digs, five kills and one ace. Senior middle blocker Marissa Turner (Coventry, R.I. / Coventry) turned in 13 kills and four total blocks while sophomore middle blocker Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J. / Bronx) finished with 10 kills. Sophomore libero Brittney Bullis (Stafford, Va. / Mountain View) led the defense with 16 digs to go along with five service aces. Freshman setter Olivia McGuinness (Colchester, Conn. / Bacon Academy) added 12 sets assists with nine digs and three aces.

Becker is back on the court on Wednesday when they host Elms College in a 7:00 p.m. matchup. Mitchell travels to Regis for their next match, also on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
