Dupree leads Women’s Volleyball to two wins at Newbury

BROOKLINE, Mass. ---- The Becker College women's volleyball team won two matches at the Newbury College Tri-Match on Saturday, sweeping the host Nighthawks, 25-18, 25-15, 25-19, before doing the same to Pine Manor College, 25-18, 25-15, 25-20.

The Hawks of Becker are now 10-11 overall and 2-0 in New England Collegiate Conference play.

In the opener against Newbury, junior middle blocker Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J. / Bronx) led the way with seven kills and three service aces. Senior setter Charlene Landry (Gorham, Maine / Gorham) recorded five service aces, 19 set assists and seven digs. Junior defensive specialist Courtney Cotnoir (Douglas, Mass. / Douglas) finished with 16 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Gillian Criddle (Earleville, Md. / Bohemia Manor) added four kills.

Facing the Gators, Dupree recorded eight kills while sophomore outside hitter Sofia Cullina (Deep River, Conn. / Valley Regional) led the defense with 17 digs. Sophomore right side Morgan Gould (North Attleboro, Mass. / Tri-County) finished with 18 set assists.

Becker is back on the court on Tuesday when they travel to Suffolk University for a 7:00 p.m. match.
