Lesley rallies to stun Women's Volleyball in five sets

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's volleyball team lost in five sets to visiting Lesley University on Friday night at the Leicester Gymnasium, 13-25, 26-24, 25-27, 25-22, 15-13.

The Hawks of Becker (10-13, 2-1 NECC) were led by junior middle blocker Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J. / Bronx) with 16 kills, two aces and four total blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Gillian Criddle (Earleville, Md. / Bohemia Manor) posted seven kills and six total blocks, while senior setter Charlene Landry (Gorham, Maine / Gorham) recorded 32 set assists, a team high five aces and six digs. Sophomore outside hitter Sofia Cullina (Deep River, Conn. / Valley Regional) posted a team-high 20 digs.

The Lynx of Lesley (9-12, 3-0 NECC) had a dominant performance from Kaylee Deluga with 29 kills, five aces and 15 digs. Anni Abbruzzese finished with 21 kills, a match-high six aces and 17 digs. Tallin Goldberg finished with 51 set assists and five aces.

Becker is back on the court on Tuesday when they travel to Dean College for a 7:00 p.m. match. Lesley hosts Newbury on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.
