Sports Medicine Staff & Information


The Becker College athletic training room located on the lower level of Knight Hall on the Leicester Campus includes therapeutic equipment such as hot and cold whirlpools, ultrasound machines, estim machines, several Game Ready machines and a Normatec.

The athletic training room is 1050 square feet and meets the needs of roughly 300 student-athletes competing on 14 varsity teams.

The sports medicine staff includes three full-time certified athletic trainers and one part-time certified athletic trainer.  In addition, the Athletic Training Room staffs students eligible for federal work-study.  Students interested in completing their internship requirements pertaining to a degree in exercise science and pre-physical therapy are also eligible to do so in the athletic training room. The athletic trainers work closely with medical professionals and the Becker coaching staff to ensure student-athletes receive the best medical care available.

 Health Portal FAQs

All student-athletes who plan to participate in varsity sports at Becker College are required to complete the proper medical forms prior to the first practice in order to be eligible.

The annual forms to be completed on the student health portal include:

  • Medical history
  • Assumption of risk
  • Consent to treat
  • Insurance information
  • ADD/ADHD Medical Exemption^
  • Physical exam*
  • Immunization record

^ If you are taking any mediation for treatment of ADHD/ADD we require you download the supplemental form Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) NCAA POLICY AND MEDICAL EXCEPTIONS NOTIFICATION FORM (FOR ALL STUDENT-ATHLETE AND HEALTH CARE PROVIDER) and bring it to your prescribing physician/health care provider to fill out and have it uploaded to the student health portal.

*All new student-athletes require a physical exam within 6 months from the start of any team-related activity.



A certified athletic trainer will be available at all home contests. Physician medical coverage will be provided for all football and ice hockey contests.

Please notify the Becker Sports Medicine Department in advance if your team will be traveling without an athletic trainer.  We will gladly aid in your team’s pre-game needs, however visiting teams must provide their own taping supplies and a taping list.  Modalities such as ultrasound and estim will not be provided unless the visiting athletic trainer travels with your team or provides detailed instruction prior to the visiting team arriving on campus. 

The Becker Sports Medicine team will provide ice, water, cups, splints and crutches at all home contests. An AED will also be on site.
