Barry’s 16 saves not enough as Field Hockey fall to Falcons

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College field hockey team lost 7-0 to visiting Fitchburg State University on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester.

The Falcons of Fitchburg State (3-3) received seven goals from six different players. Junior forward Molly Richard (Leominster, Mass./St. Bernard's) in the fourth minute, sophomore forward Aislinn DeHorsey (Leominster, Mass./New England College) in the 12th minute, freshman forward Kaelie Hosley (Barre, Mass./Quabbin Regional) in the 32nd minute, senior defender Rachael Denning (Salem, N.H./Salem) in the 39th minute, senior forward Kerra Anastasia (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) in the 43rd minute, sophomore midfielder Olivia Grant (Portsmouth, N.H./Portsmouth) in the 47th minute and by Richard in the 65th minute.

The Hawks of Becker (0-6) junior goalkeeper Alexis Barry (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) recorded 16 saves in net. Fitchburg State sophomore goalkeeper Rhiannon Fletcher (Royalston, Mass./Anna Maria College) picked up the win, playing all 35 minutes of the first half. The Falcons outshot the Hawks, 30-5.

Becker is back on the field on Sunday when they travel to Castleton State University for a 1:00 p.m. game. Fitchburg State plays their next game at UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
