Senior forward Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y. / Campus Magnet) of the Becker College men's basketball team was named the Becker College Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 14, 2018.
Durodola had another outstanding week, averaging 24.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game over three games, to go along with 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks.
Durodola led the way on Tuesday in a narrow loss at Lesley with 27 points and eight rebounds. Then on Thursday at home against Wheelock, Durodola finished with 20 points, eight rebounds and two blocks as Becker prevailed, 84-76. Finally, in a critical home game on Saturday facing Elms, the senior came through with 27 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. Durodola had the best free-throw shooting performance of his season, shooting 11 of 12 from the line.
It is the third time this season Durodola has been recognized as Becker's Athlete of the Week.
Becker will be back on the court on Tuesday when the team travels to Southern Vermont College for a 7:00 p.m. game in a rematch of last year's NECC Championship Final, that resulting in a 79-70 victory for the Hawks for the title.
