SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- The Becker College men's basketball team lost 79-67 at Western New England University on Tuesday evening at the Alumni Healthful Living Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER

  • Becker junior forward Mateus Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Colegio Pedroso e Oliveira) had his second straight double-double with a career-high 19 points to go along with ten rebounds. Ribeiro shot 50 percent from the floor in the effort.
  • Junior forward Jamir Carr (Philadelphia, Penn. / Universal Audenried) finished with 13 points, six rebounds and two steals.
  • Freshman forward Terrance Edwards (New Haven, Conn. / New Haven Academy), the reigning NECC Rookie of the Week, came off the bench to score 14 points on seven-of-eleven shooting with five rebounds.
  • Sophomore guard Mekhi Chester (East Orange, N.J. / East Orange Campus) added seven points.

FOR THE GOLDEN BEARS OF WESTERN NEW ENGLAND

  • Senior guard Mike McGuire (Garden City, N.Y. / Chaminade) led the Golden Bears with 23 points, shooting 5-of-11 from downtown.
  • Junior guard Alex Sikorski (Rocky Hill, Conn. / Rocky Hill) was a force inside with 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists.
  • Junior forward Zachary Tavitian (Milford, Conn. / Joseph A. Foran) added 10 points with three rebounds.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the court on Friday when they play McDaniel College in the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic at 6:00 p.m.
