Gulls fly past Men's Ice Hockey

WORCESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's ice hockey team lost 9-1 to visiting Endicott College on Saturday night at the Fidelity Ice Center in Worcester.

The Gulls of Endicott improve to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in conference while the Hawks of Becker fall to 2-3-1 and 1-3 against CCC opponents.

Endicott junior forward Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass. / Islanders Hockey Club (USPHL Premier)) got the scoring started 7:39 into the first, scoring on a power play assisted by senior forward Anthony Petrella (Hilton, N.Y. / UMass Amherst (Hockey East)) and sophomore forward Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn. / University of New Hampshire (Hockey East)).

Just 53 seconds into the second period, the Gulls' senior forward Jack Musil (Hull, England / University of Maine (Hockey East)) put the visitors up, 2-0, assisted by Olsson. Endicott would score three more goals in the second, with junior forward Thomas Daniels (St. Louis, Mo. / Portland Pirates (USPHL Premier)), junior forward Daniel Kucerovy (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bentley University (Atlantic Hockey)) and Olsson all finding the net.

Becker finally lit the lamp with 3:24 remaining in the second, when senior forward MacGregor Howey (Grosse Ile, Mich. / New Jersey Titans) took a pass from sophomore forward Alex Kielczewski (Grand Prairie, Texas / Portland Jr. Pirates) for his first goal of the season.

In the third period, Endicott received goals from sophomore forward Luke Rodgers (Clarkston, Mich. / American International College (Atlantic Hockey)), Olsson again, junior forward Josh Bowes (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada / Johnstown Tomahawks (NAHL)) and Kucerovy again.

Becker is back on the ice when they host Johnson and Wales in a 7:00 p.m. contest. Endicott travels to Curry on Friday for a 6:50 p.m. game.
