HENNIKER, N.H.—The Becker College men's hockey team fell to New England College 5-2 in non-conference action at Lee Clement Arena.
The Pilgrims improve to 5-4 on the season, while Becker falls to 2-6-1.
Becker capitalized on a power play midway through the first period to take an early 1-0 lead on an Aaron Deady (East Greenwich, R.I.) goal. It would take the Pilgrims 26 minutes of action to pot their first goal, but Joe Osaka (Tokyo, Japan) and Connor Fries (Barnstable, Mass.) put goals in less than two minutes apart to put the Pilgrims on top, 2-1.
NEC exploded for three goals in the third period at the 1:28, 4:56 and 17:18 marks for a 5-1 lead. Ten seconds after David Good's (Varnamo, Sweden) first collegiate goal, Becker's Brandon Morgan (Rochester, N.Y.) netting another for Hawks, sealing the 5-2 final.
The Pilgrims finished 1-for-4 on power play opportunities, while Becker was 1-for-3.
Sophomore Christoffer Sjoo (Stockholm, Sweden) tallied 22 saves in the win for NEC, while Richard D'Ortenzio (Holliston, Mass.) finished with 41 saves for Becker.
