LEICESTER, Mass. --- Junior guard Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass. / Foxborough) of the Becker College women's basketball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for the week ending Monday, November 12th, 2018.
Harrison opened the season with a red-hot shooting performance at the Worcester City Tournament, leading Becker to a third-place finish. The junior averaged 24 points over two games, shooting 60 percent from the floor and 60 percent from behind the arc and 100 percent from the free throw line. Facing Clark University on Saturday, Harrison poured in 32 points with three steals to carry the Hawks to a 70-66 win, their first ever victory over the Cougars. She was named to the Worcester City All-Tournament Team for the third consecutive year. Playing at the University of New England on Monday, Harrison added another nine points. Harrison has opened the season going a perfect 19-of-19 from the free throw line.
Harrison was further named the Becker College Athlete of the Week for the same period.
The Hawks will be back on the court on Wednesday when they head up the road to Anna Maria College for a 6:00 p.m. game.
