Pilgrims Blank Women's Ice Hockey, 2-0

HENNIKER, N.H. – New England College would extend their winning streak to five games beating the visiting Becker College Hawks 2-0 Friday evening.


With the win the Pilgrims improve to 5-6-0 on the season, while loss drops the Hawks to 1-9-0 overall.




First Period:  The Pilgrims would notch the lone goal of the opening period as Morgan Lamos would connect with her first career goal assisted by Amanda McGoldrick and Maci Picone.


Third Period:  NEC would tack on an empty-netter with 1:17 remaining in play as McGoldrick would pick up a loose puck at center ice and record her third goal of the season. 




Picking up the shutout win in net for the Pilgrims was Lindsey Powers who recorded 20 saves.


In goal for Becker was Julia Johnson who notched 29 saves.




New England College will close out the first semester Saturday, Dec. 12 as the Pilgrims host SUNY Potsdam.


Becker will hit the ice again on Sunday, Dec. 13 when they will host SUNY Potsdam.
