MARLBORO, Mass. --- The Becker College women's ice hockey team lost 2-0 to visiting Chatham University on Friday night at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro. The Ice Hawks of Becker see their season record drop to 3-9-1 while the Cougars of Chatham improve to 5-6-1.
The first goal of the game was scored at 19:14 in the second period. Chatham senior McKenzie Haskins (Anchorage, Ala. / Team Alaska) made the shot with an assist from sophomore Kristina Block (Scarborough, Maine / North Yarmouth Academy).
Chatham sophomore Michelle Jones (Scarborough, ONT / Barrie Sharks PWHL) would score the second goal of the night late in the third period assisted by first year Holly Ackerman (East Rockaway, N.Y. / Brewster Academy) and sophomore Jillian Rowland (St. Louis, Mo. / Chicago Fury).
Becker sophomore goalkeeper Julia Johnson (Littleton, Colo. / Walpole Express) recorded 30 saves between the pipes. Chatham junior goaltender Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, ONT / Thunder Bay Queens) was in the goal again for the Cougars. She made 23 saves to earn the shutout. Chatham outshot Becker 32-23.
Becker and Chatham will play again on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
