Vikings trounce Women's Ice Hockey, 4-2


WORCESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's ice hockey team lost 4-2 to visiting Salem State in Colonial Hockey Conference action on Friday night at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.

The Vikings of Salem State (5-16-2, 1-9-1 CHC) picked up the win with a power-play goal from sophomore forward Rose Sullivan (Charlestown, MA / Matignon), sophomore forward Kylie Currier (Middleton, MA / Austin Prep) posted a goal and two assists while sophomore defenders Vanessa VanBuskirk (Winthrop, MA / University of New England) and Sara Zatorski (Parker, CO / East Coast Wizards) also scored. Junior forward Jacqueline Sindoris (Charlestown, MA Arlington Catholic assisted on three goals. Freshman goalie Isabelle Woodward (Ottawa, ONT / Ottawa Lady Senators) finished with 24 saves between the pipes.

The Hawks of Becker (4-17-3, 2-6-3 CHC) received 35 saves from junior goalie Julia Johnson (Littleton, Colo. / Walpole Express). Junior forward Bailey Coons (Casper, Wyo. / Team Wyoming) scored unassisted while junior forward Rachel Pitcher (Grand Isle, Vt. / Vermont Shamrocks) also scored, assisted by Sophomore defender Madison Maloney (Clovis, Calif. / Colorado Select) and freshman defender Cameron Payne (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. / Los Osos High School).

Becker and Salem State wrap up their regular seasons on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Salem.
