Women's Volleyball can't nip AMCats

PAXTON, Mass. --- The Becker College women's volleyball team lost 25-19, 25-20, 25-17 at Anna Maria College on Tuesday evening at the Fuller Center in Paxton, Massachusetts. The AMCats of Anna Maria improve to 3-5 while the Hawks of Becker fall to 4-3, breaking their four match winning streak.

 

Becker was led by Cheyenne Melanson with five kills. Morgan Gould dished out eight assists and posted a team-high 10 digs. Kayla Dupree had two kills and a solo block.

 

For Anna Maria, sophomore Amari King (Lawrence, Mass.) and junior Rebecca Foti (Bedford, Mass.) both broke the program record for kills in a three-set match—the previous record of 14 kills was set in 2009 by Leah Murphy. King finished with 19 kills, while Foti was right behind her with 18.

 

Becker will be back on the court at home on Thursday when they host Curry College at 7:00 p.m. Anna Maria travels to Daniel Webster on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. match.
