Flynn takes second NECC Rookie of the Week

LEICESTER, Mass. --- Freshman outside hitter Teddie Flynn (Amesbury, Mass. / Essex Tech) of the Becker College women's volleyball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 8, 2019.

Flynn led the Hawks to a 3-0 week with victories over Fitchburg State, Mass Maritime and Anna Maria. Facing the Falcons on Thursday, Flynn tallied nine kills, two aces and 13 digs in a four set victory. In a sweep of the Buccaneers at the Anna Maria tri-match on Saturday, the rookie hit .267, tallying seven kills, three aces and 13 digs. Finally, facing the host AMCATS, Flynn added five kills, three aces and 14 digs. For the week, the rookie totaled 21 kills, eight service aces and 40 digs over 11 sets.

Flynn was also the NECC Rookie of the Week last week, the first week of the season. This week marks just the fourth time in twelve seasons in the NECC that the Hawks have claimed the conference Rookie of the Week award.

The Hawks are back on the court on Thursday when they travel to Emmanuel College for a 7:00 p.m. match.
