Title: Head Coach

Hugo Ortega has been the head coach of the Becker College women's volleyball program since the Spring of 2017.

During the 2018 season, Ortega coached the Hawks to a 5-4 record in NECC play, with senior middle blocker Kayla Dupree and freshman libero Joanna Bampi both being voted to the NECC All-Conference team. Junior Sofia Cullina became the first Hawk to record 1000 digs for her career, becoming the program's all-time digs leader. 

Coach Ortega had previously been the team’s assistant coach since the 2014 season, helping in the team’s development and leading to three Hawks being selected to NECC All-Conference team.

Prior to coming to Becker, Ortega coached the Pumas Volleyball Club in North Andover, and had previously been an assistant coach at Clinton High School. Ortega graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
